Women's Sailing team finishes 16th at the Victorian Urn @ Harvard

    October 31st, 2011

The women's team were in Boston on Halloween weekend to sail at the Vicorian Coffee Urn intersectional at Havard, finishing 16th overall in extreme sailing conditions on the Charles River. An early season snow fall arrived mid-day on saturday with winds averaging 20kts and reported gusts to 30. Despite the cold and windy weather and crazy sailing conditions of the Charles River the women held thier own against an extremely talent and deep fleet of New England Schools. This event was the NEISA women's qualifiers to the ACC Championship and only the top teams were eleigible to compete. The weather reminded the team why it is they sail for Miami. Complete scores can be found here

The Sailing Canes are a Club sport and unlike varsity teams they do not receive funds from the University for out of district travel.   If you would like to support the Canes please make a donation
