Sailing team finishes 10th at the ICSA National Championships @ the Columbia River Gorge

The SailingCanes in their first appearance at a National Championships turned some heads on a roller coaster ride of finishes. After the first day under light and fickle winds, and crazy currents in the river, the team struggled and found themselves in a dissappointing 17th place. During the overnight debrief the team and coaches developed a new game plan, which the Canes were able to flawlessly execute on Day 2 , climbing up the standings to finish in 5th place and only 3 points out of 3rd! On day three the Gorge returned to it's wet and wildly windy reputation and the team struggled a bit but still managed to hang on to 10th place overall, a great accomplishment for a first appearance and a volunteer based club program.
